Features
Everything MultiCam Studio Pro can do
A complete production toolkit in a browser tab: a live compositing canvas, independent scenes, a real audio mixer and a recorder you can tune to the quality you need.
Canvas and composition
The program canvas is a fixed 1920×1080 stage — the same frame your recording is written in — so what you arrange is exactly what you get.
- Drag any source to move it and use the eight corner and edge handles to resize it precisely.
- Layer sources on top of each other and reorder them, so a picture-in-picture camera always sits above a screen share.
- Choose a fit mode per source: Fill (cover) crops to the box, Letterbox (contain) keeps the whole image with bars, and Stretch fills the box exactly.
- Round the corners of any source with an adjustable radius for a modern, card-style look.
- Add and tune a drop shadow per source — colour, blur and offset — to separate an inset camera from the background.
- Numeric position and size fields in the properties panel when you need pixel-perfect placement.
- A fullscreen preview button to check the composition without the surrounding panels.
Sources: cameras, screens and microphones
- Up to eight simultaneous video sources — webcams, capture cards, virtual cameras and phone cameras that appear as devices.
- Screen, window or browser-tab capture added as an ordinary source you can position and resize like any camera.
- Microphone sources with their own channel in the mixer, so you can record a proper USB mic alongside a webcam.
- Per-source capture resolution: 1080p, 720p, 480p or 320p, letting you trade sharpness for CPU headroom on a per-camera basis.
- A device list that refreshes when you plug or unplug hardware, plus a manual refresh button.
- Show, hide, rename, duplicate or remove any source without disturbing the rest of the layout.
Scenes and transitions
Scenes are complete, independent setups: their own sources, their own layout and their own audio. Switching scenes is how you cut between a talking head, a full-screen demo and a side-by-side interview.
- Create as many scenes as you need; adding a source to one scene never affects another.
- Audio is scene-aware — a microphone that only exists in one scene is silent in the others, so nothing bleeds through.
- Smooth fade transitions when switching scenes, with a configurable duration in milliseconds.
- Rename, reorder and delete scenes from the scenes dock, and switch live while recording.
Audio mixing and monitoring
- A channel per audio source with a live level meter showing real-time loudness.
- Gain control on every channel so quiet microphones and loud webcams can sit at the same level.
- Mute and Solo buttons for isolating a single source while you set levels.
- A compressor and limiter that catch peaks and prevent clipping on the recorded track.
- Selectable sample rate — 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz or 96 kHz — with 48 kHz as the clean default.
- Adjustable audio buffer size (20–400 ms) to eliminate clicks and dropouts on slower machines.
- An audio sync offset so you can nudge sound earlier or later if a camera introduces video delay.
Recording and output
- VP9 / WebM by default for the most reliable, gap-free recordings, with H.264 / MP4 available when you need maximum compatibility.
- Adjustable video bitrate and frame rate to balance file size against quality.
- Output resolution scaling, so you can compose at 1080p and export at 720p if you prefer smaller files.
- Automatic audio bitrate that follows what your browser supports, with an optional custom bitrate for full control.
- Pause and resume mid-recording, then continue into the same file.
- One-click PNG snapshots of the current canvas at full resolution.
- Background-safe capture: recording keeps running at full frame rate even when you switch to another browser tab.
- Finished recordings download directly to your computer — nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Workflow and help
- Keyboard shortcuts for record, pause and snapshot so you can start without reaching for the mouse.
- An interactive guided tour that walks first-time users through every panel, available any time from the Tutorial button.
- A built-in change log listing every feature, improvement and fix as it ships.
- Live performance readout in the header: frame rate, estimated CPU load and memory use.
- Your scenes, sources and settings are remembered between visits on the same browser.
Live streaming (in development)
Direct streaming to YouTube, Twitch and Facebook is built into the interface but is currently disabled while it is being finished. The Stream Live button shows an "under development" note until it is ready. Recording is fully available in the meantime.
